Scientists have created a string of mice that exhibit many of the same characteristics that are displayed in a human with autism. I personally think this is incredible! Why? Because I want answers as to why my son has autism and how I can help him. It is imperative that we have sample populations that can be tested in various areas to help researchers understand autism.
Last year, I wrote about the potential for the naturally occurring chemical, Oxytocin, to help humans on the autism spectrum with their social interactions. I am excited to see that research is ongoing to determine the benefits and hopefully move towards an approved medical treatment.
