Scientists have tagged animals for years to track their whereabouts and to understand their living patterns. These tags are metal and are attached to the animals in a way that will not interfere with their activities. “To date none of the metal tag numbers have been recovered from turtles outside the region from which they were tagged,” …… until now! Earlier this year, a hawksbill turtle was identified nearly 130 miles from the origin of the initial tagging.
