Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) has fallen victim to a “potion” taken from an Old English Text believed to be one of the first true medical books! Harry Potter this is not, however the concoction worked!
A team of researchers and microbiologists, from the UK and US tested the recipe in cells and in mice and the results were amazing!
Costing billions in healthcare dollars per year, MRSA is extremely resistant to antibiotics. The researchers believe a combination of things contribute to the effectiveness of the “potion” including a brewing process. At the molecular level, the researchers believe that this compound interferes with the ability of the bacteria to talk to each other so they can’t damage tissue.
