Did you see the recent article about PTSD/TBI in the National Geographic? The article is a great write up about the token injury of the War on Terrorism, traumatic brain injuries. The writer, Caroline Alexander, goes into detail about the lack of understanding that still exists around the types of injuries from which thousands of soldiers are suffering. Did you know that there may be an unseen injury to someone that exists by simply being in close proximity to a blast? If there is one thing that I took from this write up is that research is desperately needed to determine the effects of being near explosions and knowledge about treating our veterans is imperative.
